The Cycling for Mobility team was born in October 2011. The brain child of a couple of cyclist that decide to take their passion for cycling a step further and set up the a charity, who’s goal it is to assist people who through age, illness or misfortune unfortunately have lost the ability to be mobile without the use of a wheel chair.

Cycling for Mobility travels country wide to participate in various cycling races, including joBerg2C, Sani2C, Sappi MTB in order to:

  • Raise awareness about the need for wheelchairs in South Africa
  • Raise funds to purchase wheelchairs
  • Distribute wheelchairs to community members throughout SA in needs

C4M Helps Disabled Children

The Cycling 4 Mobility Team recently handed over six specialised wheelchairs to the Ethembeni School for the Physically disabled in inchanga on Friday, Gebruary 7. Thanks to Halfway Toyota who once again assisted with a bakkie to transport the valuable cargo. It was just before the 2012 Amashova Cycle Challenge, that the school approached Dr Beth McLeod, one of the C4M team members, about the need for wheelchairs for some of their students.

C4M supplied two standard wheelchairs immediately, with another four to follow - however, it was discovered that the children required specific wheelchairs for their disabilities...
